Data Collector - Jamaica

Data Collectors are required to administer surveys in their communities or predetermined locations.Data Collectors are paid per Research Job.

Requirements 

• An ability to travel, be outdoors for long periods of time and deal with uncomfortable environments. Data collectors must also be organized, precise and honest with the data they record in order to achieve accurate and reliable research results.
• Data Collectors must travel to various locations with their mobile phone  for recording accurate data through interviews our observation. 
• Conducts and records face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with subjects, in accordance with predetermined interview protocol, data collection procedures, and documentation standards.

Education and Training

• High school diploma and or at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required 

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Skill in identifying and recruiting research subjects.
• Interviewing and data collection skills.
• Ability to understand and apply specified field and/or laboratory research procedures and protocols.

Position requires: 

a) independent travel to field sites.

b) using established research protocol, procedures, and techniques to collect and/or prepare field data, samples, specimens, materials, and/or media.

c) following detailed protocol and procedures in the recording data.

d) Smart phone for data collection with active data plan.

Working Conditions and physical effort 

• Light physical effort, some standing or walking. Effort applies to no more than three (3) hours per day.
• Work environment involves minimal to no exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
• Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
